Advantages Of Building With The ACTech® Panel SIP

  • The R-value, or measure of resistance to heat loss through conduction, is a permanent, true R-24, for the three-inch-thick panel which ensures a 30% to 50% output reduction for heating and cooling devices. Because the structural insulated panel has a solid hermetic foam core, it exceeds the comparable R-value of traditional construction materials with and without air or vapor barriers.
  • The Panels foam core does not deteriorate or breakdown over time and has excellent insulation values that will last for the life of the building.
  • ACTech® Panels resist decay, fungus, moisture, and mildew. The Class-1 foam also acts as a deterrent to termites, carpenter bees, and carpenter ants, which ensure structural longevity.
  • Walls and roofs constructed with the panels have the ability to withstand wind loads up to 150 M.P.H. with a 1.15 importance factor and un-braced spans of up to 10 feet.
  • A Panel with a two foot covering weights less than wood framing and insulation (for an equivalent area) 3.0 pounds per square foot.
  • The Actech® Panel System is designed to be contractor/user friendly. Structures that take weeks and months to erect with conventional materials, can now be completed within hours or days utilizing ACTech® Panel System. As an example, a 2,000 square foot building can be framed and roofed in less than 72 hours by non-journeyman workers when using the ACTech® Panel System saving construction time, and costs.
  •  Comparatively stronger than conventional block or wood frame construction, the ACTech® Panel System meets or surpasses the most stringent wind, projectile, and uplift codes in the nation which were levied by Miami/Dade County (FL) as a result of Hurricane Andrew.
  •  ACTech® Panel System is socially and environmentally responsible.
  • The Panels have been specifically tested to confirm that there is no off-gassing of allergens, formaldehyde, environmental fungi, and other endotoxins.
  • The combination of steel skins and a Class-1 foam core greatly reduces the third leading cause of house fires which are those that are started in the framing of the structure.
  •  The Panel numbering on the erection drawings corresponds to the numbering placed on the individual Panels delivered to the job site. This allows for ease of placement on the site prior to erection, eliminates the need to measure each panel prior to erection and reduces the number of skilled labors hours required to complete the erection of the Panel portion of the structure.
  •  Panels are pre-cut at the factory minimizing field waste and erection time.
  • Panels can be combined with other conventional masonry, wood and metal framing systems.
  • ACTech® Panels are flexible and can be tailored to suit most design requirements.
